Newly created position will lead software engineering for the award-winning Lucid Air, including ADAS, Audio, Infotainment, Embedded Software and System Architecture

(NASDAQ: LCID), which sets new standards with the award-winning Lucid Air with the industry’s longest-range, fastest-charging electric vehicle, today announced the appointment of Derrick Carty as Vice President of Platform Software Engineering, reporting directly to Michael BellLucid’s Senior Vice President of Digital. In this newly created position, Mr. Carty will lead Platform Software Engineering including ADAS, Audio, CoreOS/Android Framework, Embedded Software, Controls Platform, AUTOSAR and System Architecture. Mr. Carty brings decades of global software development experience and user interface expertise to Lucid, including 23 years at Apple, and most recently as a consultant to Lucid’s Infotainment Software team.

- Embedded Software, Operating Platform, AUTOSAR
- Architecture of hardware systems
- System Architecture
- Software architecture
Prior to joining Lucid, Derrick spent 23 years at Apple, Inc., where he held positions as Firmware Manager for Intel Macs, Director of Mac Systems Controller, Senior Director for CPU SW, and the group that provided software for new Macs. He started a consultancy that provided technical and management advice for various companies. Derrick has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Stanford University.
