The off-season started in perhaps the worst possible way for the Brooklyn Nets. The cornerstone of their franchise, Kevin Durant, sent shockwaves through the NBA world after requesting a trade. However, after all the twists and turns in the saga, the two sides are now back in line. The 12-time All-Star agreed to continue his association with the Nets. Likewise, KD has a skilled entourage around him.
With Durant back in the mix, the Nets have an established ‘Big 3’ ready for next season. Kyrie Irving was the first to keep his promise by signing up for his senior year. KAI is certainly one of the most cunning scorers in the NBA. Its grips often leave defenders on the ground. If available, this elite scoring duo could be quite a bit of noise next season.
However, Brooklyn has a great defensive upgrade with former All-Star Ben Simmons. After not making a single appearance last season, the 6’10” guard is ready to get back on the floor. His capture makes the Nets a threat on both sides of the floor. Utilities. it all depends on acquiring the right pieces. And Durant has made his choice.

Melo and Durant first came on the scene during their Olympic journey. Notably, they were teammates in the US gold medal win in 2008 and 2012. Anthony is one of the most decorated goalscorers in basketball history. Likewise, his dominance on the international stage was no surprise. He is only behind KD as the all-time leading scorer for the United States basketball team.

While not at the top of his game, Carmelo Anthony can still be a big difference maker. Sharing the field with his best friend, LeBron James, the former scoring champion still had his rhythm. With 13.3 points per game, Melo provided a valuable attack from the bench. However, the Lakers needed every last ounce of his scoring.
On the other hand, the Brooklyn Nets are loaded with a truckload of bucket catchers. Aside from their frontline duo, they have a budding Cameron Thomas ready to fill in. The LSU talent has big shoes to fill with James Harden leaving for the Philadelphia 76ers. The franchise has also added players, such as TJ Warren, who can give them the score boost from the couch.
