The new Menu app in CleanMy Mac provides easier access to many features designed to keep your Mac safe † [+]
CleanMyMac is one of those handy bits of software that takes care of the household chores, keeping your Mac running like a well-oiled machine without clogging itself up with gigabytes of log files and other system junk that can turn it into a stupefied slug.
This kind of software often gets a lot of criticism, especially from Mac purists who will tell you that anything something like CleanMyMac can do can also be done with the Terminal app in macOS. That’s all well and good if you know all the complicated commands and are adept at fiddling with your Mac under the hood. But if you’re like most people who just want to keep their Mac fast and tidy, a program like CleanMyMac is a good idea.
I’m pretty good with macOS, but I’ve been using CleanMyMac for a few years now and don’t think I’d want to do without it now. MacPaw is the developer behind this handy piece of software and the company is based in Kiev, Ukraine. Understandably, the MacPaw team is currently under pressure with the illegal invasion of their country, but it hasn’t stopped them from updating the app to make it even better.
The CleanMyMac software will even suggest what needs to be done for your Mac to work properly.
The new CleanMyMac has been enhanced with new tools for monitoring Mac health. The new functionality is now available as a free upgrade to all users of the software. The new Menu App functionality is designed to extend the life of any Mac by adding five detailed health monitors. These updates provide users with general information about their Mac’s health, pressure, temperature, and consumption processes.
Oleksandr Kosovan is the CEO of MacPaw. Amid attacks on the Ukrainian capital, he had this to say about the new release: “We are excited to release an all-new Menu App functionality in CleanMyMac X. We believe it will help you take better care of your health. take care of your Mac and extend its life span. With 5 new monitors, users can assess the current condition and stability of their Mac. If a problem occurs, users can quickly diagnose their Mac and take steps to prevent further deterioration to prevent.
“We are proud of this update and would like to thank all our beta testers for their help. Their feedback and the dedicated work of our team, despite the wartime in our homeland, made this release possible.”
The Battery Monitor in CleanMyMac tracks the battery status of a Mac laptop.
The new features help users protect their Mac from malware and other cyber threats. It can also track a Mac’s available storage space, its temperature, the types of data stored on the drive, and the size of the Recycle Bin for users to clean up immediately. In addition to keeping an eye on CPU load, users can also see which apps are taxing the processor, monitor system uptime, and watch out for unusual activity spikes.
The RAM monitoring feature provides information about what’s happening to computer memory, how much RAM apps are consuming, and whether it’s okay to push it further. The battery monitoring feature can be used to monitor the number of charge cycles, the overall health of a Mac’s battery, plus how long it takes for the battery to fully charge.
